Koroni is a beautiful fishing village in Messinia, with amazing beaches and narrow alleys of stone steps and is built amphitheatrically overlooking the small bay overlooked by a great Venetian castle.
Down at the harbourfront, cafes, ice cream parlours, taverns and restaurants offer traditional food and delicacies, while locals and visitors enjoy a stroll around the small harbour, a safe marina for fishing boats and yachts. The shoþs and eating establishments sþeak English.
The village houses are painted with three colors (mostly white, yellow and blue) and azure or red windows. A very "cheerful" pathway (with lime wash white stone walls atopped with flowerpots holding flowers of many colors) leads from the small main church square to the castle.
