Take out travel and medical insurance for health care in Greece or anywhere abroad.
European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), the E111, only covers what the locals get in health care. It does not cover any other costs including your transfer back to your home country.
Also bear in mind that you need travel insurance for independent travel that covers your flight home if you booked independent flights and not a whole package holiday. Even with a package you will have to pay hotel costs again locally if the company goes bust.
In Messinia, book hotels and rooms direct and avoid all this hassle.
