Koroni is an administrative centre for houses bought in the southern half of the peninsula south of Kalamata and is where the title deeds are stored.
Koroni has many useful stores as supplies to the small population within the town and scattered round and about.
There are two hairdressers, one above the square called Aphrodites and another back up the main road out of Koroni town and a barbers on the road parallel to the harbourfront.
Alexander Jewels jewellers/paintings, art and craft
Sipas supermarket in the road parallel to the harbourfront opposite St Dimitris church square, and there is also a large out of town supermarket with car park on the main coastal road into Koroni.
Greek bookstore/stationery/gift and fancy art papers (ΧΑΡΤΙ ΚΑΙ MΟΛΥΒΙ)
On the narrow pedestrian lane from the steps by St Dimitri square is a little shopping area which has several mini markets, traditional bakers (fresh baked bread), fresh local fruit and vegetables, and a Western Union office.
Just up from the Sipsas supermarket is a small electrical store called Kiklos (ΗΛΕΚΤΡΙΚΟΣ KΥΚΛΟΣ) with all white goods, televisions, air condition units, digital cameras and camcorders, coffee makers, and hairdryers, as well as solar panel for your roof to heat hot water (usual in Greece).
In Koroni town square is the National Bank of Greece and further along is the Agricultural Bank. Opposite which is the OTE landline shop.
Up towards Zaga Beach is a Nail Salon on the right (just up from Aphrodites hair stylists) and a homeware shop on the left, a short walk up from St Dimitris church square.
On that road headed back to main road is the Medical Centre, which is also for the turn to the Panagia Eleistra (with its miracluous icon of the Panagia, Theotokou) and with views of Zaga and Memi Beaches.
The harbour holds the pavement cafes, restaurant (I tended to eat at Zorbas, but there is also the excellent Flivos for evening meals), ΔΩΔΩΝΗ ice cream parlour, Magna's cafe and creperie, and 'Tasty' morning pie shop, amongst many others.
On the parallel road to the harbourfront is Elite Pastry Shop (ΖΑΧΑΡΟΠΛΑΣΤΕΙΟ) who state they use local pure ingredients.
Just in from the harbourfront just up from the below Fish Restaurant, a village square which has is the classical Greek stone arch fronted Kamares Bar for a quiet evening drink or coffee and a chat.
Before this cafe bar is the large Kangelarios Fish Restaurant, used for special events/parties by the locals on weekends. (ΚΑΓΓΕΛΑΡΙΟΣ - ΟΥΖΟΜΕΖΕΘΟΠΩΛΕΙΟ ΨΑΡΟΤΑΒΕΡΝΑ)
Overlooking the fishing village is the great Venetian castle that is well worth a walk round for its views over a wild and empty sea and islands beyond. Within the castle is now a monastery and churches.
The roads are narrow medieval lanes and the architecture traditional Greek, which makes it a pretty little village with its glorious sea views.
At the entrance to the coastal road into Koroni village centre, is a homeware / ornaments store for your home, souvenir or gifts.
